All About Dr. Thurman Richard White

Dr. Richard White works for the Department of Defense as a Computer Network Security Administrator for the Tennessee Army National Guard. He is also serving as a Warrant Officer in the Tennessee Army National Guard. He is a professor and has taught computer technology at ITT Technical Institute and has taught Leadership, Organizational Management, and Statistics at Bethel College.

During Dr. White’s career, he has earned four college degrees. While attending Crichton College for two years and playing college basketball, he was assistant manager at Roger Williams International Music Center. He then served in the United States Navy for six years. He worked as a computer/network engineer for Federal Express in Memphis Tennessee. He was also Vice President of Systems development for the Potomac Group and later began his own business to develop MediClaim, computer products for the healthcare industry. He has worked with several fortune 500 companies to include Cardinal Health Corporation, OmniCell and the Pyxis Corporation. Dr. White has written that outstanding managers, in general, are unable to tell others their process to becoming great people. However, they subconsciously follow the rules detailed in the three models presented that Dr. White has researched in this book. Dr. White points out in his book that those who really deserve praise are the people who, while human enough to enjoy power, nevertheless pay more attention to justice than they are compelled to do by their situations.
